In this blog we would like to draw your attention to the following:
Saturday July 24th – Samaritan’s Awareness Day – The Big Listen 2021
https://www.samaritans.org/support-us/campaign/talk-us/
Every year in July, Samaritans branches in the UK and Republic of Ireland hold local events to raise awareness that Samaritans are here to listen to anyone who’s struggling to cope, at any time of the day or night.’
These wonderful people have lots of activities planned on social media for Samaritan’s Awareness Day – 24/7 – on 24th July, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
You can call Samaritan’s free of charge on 116 123 from any phone.
Sunday June 25th – National Schizophrenia Awareness Day – Rethink Mental Health
https://www.rethink.org/get-involved/awareness-days-and-events/schizophrenia-awareness-day/
‘National Schizophrenia Awareness Day on 25th July 2021 shines a light on the challenges faced by hundreds of thousands of people living with a diagnosis of schizophrenia in the UK and millions more worldwide. It sets out the steps we can all take to break down the stigma and discrimination surrounding this much misunderstood illness.’
There are many named mental illnesses. I highlight these two Awareness Days as a way for you to introduce yourself to what is available should the need arise for you personally or for someone you may know.
We are none of us immune to mental illness. Choose what will work for you to get you and yours to a state of mental health. I have said before that there is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to us looking after ourselves heart, mind, body and soul.
With ease and good mental strength
